Hi friends, I’m proud to offer this original Art Deco era three decanter set from Paden City Glass. The company was located in West Virginia, USA and in business from 1916 to 1951. I uploaded the maximum 24 photos, so please take a moment to scroll to the end! In the following paragraphs, I’ll do my best to describe this set as accurately as possible. The first thing I’ll mention, this set is not large. Each decanter only holds 24 ounces and measures 6″ wide and 9″ tall with stopper. If you consider a shot 1.5 oz, that’s a total of only 16 per. That said, the glass is quite thick and each decanter weighs about 2.5 lbs. empty. Overall, I would consider this set in excellent condition. As noted and shown above, the flaws are limited to small chips on the inside of one stopper and marks on the chrome surface, especially around the handle. The marks are minimal and I doubt anyone would even notice, but I’m sure they can be minimized with some time and effort. The chips on the one stopper are on the end of the stem and not visible when in use (it’s the middle stopper in the photo). The original mini padlock from Walsco is included with working keys. Mechanically, you will need the lock in place (not necessarily locked) to carry by the handle. The decanters themselves are in excellent condition with easy to read glass etchings; Bourbon, Scotch and Rye. The photos don’t show how well the cut glass reflects and scatters light – almost like a prism. As far as decor, glass and chrome are aesthetically flexible and look elegant in most eras; early 20th century, MCM, and even contemporary minimal. As far as shipping, I’ll pack each decanter in its own cushioned box, the stoppers and chrome assembly will be separately protected as well. So this will be one fairly large box with sub boxes, I’m estimating at about 15 lbs. Or you make my life easier and I’ll deliver it in NYC, I’m 60 miles away, but in the city once a week or so for business. We can meet in a luxury hotel lobby like the St. Regis or Carlyle and act like we’re international Art Deco dealers… LOL. Thanks for viewing and especially reading this far.
